The fascinating building complex of the Benedictine Abbey of Pannonhalma attracts the eye from afar. Hungary’s largest and oldest religious centre has deservedly earned a place on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Admire the St Martin Basilica, the 400,000 volume library and last but not least the splendid view from the church’s 55-metre tower. The Benedictine Abbey is home to a community of about 40 monks who, besides having an active religious life, operate a boarding school and make sure that visitors don’t leave without sampling some gastronomic specialities. Visit the fish-shaped canopy nature trail and walk through the treetops inside the Pannonhalma Landscape Protection Area.

The famous Bábolna stud farm has been devoted to breeding and developing Arabian horses for as long as 230 years. The farm counts approximately 280 horses, most of them are Shagya-Arabians characterized by elegant and harmonious movements, extraordinary goodwill and learning abilities with great workload and ideal dimensions. Look around the farm with a local expert guide, visit the Horse Museum, the Studyard, the impressive Riding Hall and the Coach Museum. Visit the Arboretum, where you can find indigenous wild and domestic animals and the Memorial of the Famous Horses, which is unique in Europe. The paddocks of the Foal Farm are next to the Arboretum, where the foals of this year can be seen together with their dams. Crown the tour with a pleasant carriage ride.
