Day 1 

Arrival to Budapest Liszt Ferenc International Airport OR if you are already arrived to Budapest, breakfast at your hotel.

In the morning hours departure from Budapest with your local guide and your private transfer to the nice town of Gyula. After arriving the tour starts in the city centre. There are plenty of sight that are worth visiting, so why not choose to take a city tour on a train on wheels. The ride with Thomas, the engine takes for 30 minutes. All the guests need to do is sit back and admire the nice buildings. After the short city tour the guests have free time in the town, for having lunch on their own, or have a walk.

After the free time the guests proceed towards their accommodation.

After the check-in, in the early afternoon the guests have a visit at the Gyula Castle. The tour of the castle takes about an hour during which you will learn about one of the most important battles in Hungary’s history that was in Gyula in the 16th century against the Turkish Empire. You will also see many rooms and displays from the medieval ages.

In the end of the day what could be more relaxing then a bath in the Gyula Castle Spa. One of the main attractions of the town is the 50-year-old Castle Bath, which offers nice recreation for every age-group with its 20 pools. Under the shadows of high, old trees the guests can enjoy all kinds of pampering treatments as well.

Day 2

Breakfast at your hotel.

After checking out from the hotel go and visit the Almásy Castle Visitor Centre in Gyula. Unlike other exhibitions, Castle Almásy, using unique interactive tools, gives its visitors the opportunity to learn not only about the way of life of aristocrats who lived in these buildings, but also about the lives of people who lived in the castle and its environs. Passing through rooms and spacious halls, crossing these opulent and fascinating enclosures so representative of its era, surely questions will arise. The Almásy Castle and the visitor’s information center can offer you answers to these questions.

After the Castle visit the guests have a bit of free time (for having lunch on own), and then they are invited to have a coffee and a cake at the Hundred‑Year‑Old Confectionery. One of the sights of Gyula is the beautiful town house built in empire style which was established 180 years ago and is the home to the second oldest confectionery of Hungary: the Hundred-year-old confectionery. You can indulge in the local specialities taken back to the middle of the 19th century in a period building among period furniture. Today, the guests will find a Confectionery Museum in the old pastry-making shop, where the original devices are on display.

In the late afternoon, after the visit, transfer back to Budapest.
